Old Columban Society
The Old Columban Society has around 3,000 members around the world. Founded in 1909, it keeps members in touch with each other and the College. Its own website is at www.oldcolumbansociety.com [registered members only].
We publish the annual Old Columban Bulletin, containing much news of OCS and the College. We regularly organise social occasions in the College and elsewhere, and also award an annual Scholarship, available to children of OCs, who are all entitled to a discount on College fees.
The Society is socially very active, and in recent times there have been parties and dinners in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast, London and Berlin. There is an annual golf outing on the College course, followed by a dinner. The Society also helps members who organise the frequent year-reunions now taking place (usually in Dublin).
The current officers of the Society are : R. Johnson (President), G.J.R.M. Symes (Honorary Secretary), J.R.P.Wardell (Treasurer), M. Patterson (Registrar and College Representative) and N.F.D.Falkiner (Editor of the Bulletin). They are supported by a Committee of up to 20 members. The Annual General Meeting is held every summer/autumn in Dublin.
An e-mail about news and events is sent almost every month to members: if you are a member and wish to receive this, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the word 'List' in the subject line. The Society is also on Facebook: search for 'Old Columbans'.
If you attended the College, but are not a member of the Society and would like to join, please contact us via the contact form under 'OCS Contact'. The life subscription for those who did not join on leaving the school is on a sliding scale.

An important recent venture is the Society's Bursary Fund. This aims to help the children of Old Columbans, and indeed others, to attend the College when their parents need financial assistance with the fees. The Warden takes confidential decisions about who should receive such assistance. For a full account of this scheme, go to our Bursary Fund page.
An easy way to donate is via the PayPal button (if you do not have a PayPal account, please first create one here).
