St. Columba’s is more than a school , it’s a home away from home . Our community is built upon our college values of kindness, compassion, inclusion, responsibility and determination. These five values, chosen by our school, creates a community that is built on teamwork and respect, and one where every individual is a valued member.
One of the core drivers behind our close-knit community is that we all share a commitment to building lifelong experiences at St Columba’s through supporting each other to grow and develop new skills and nurturing relationships that we will take with us through life. Whether it’s on the sports field, in the classrooms, or in the boarding houses, the teaching and pastoral teams are dedicated to encouraging students and helping us become the best that each of us can be.
At St. Columba’s, you will find countless opportunities to challenge yourself and grow in all areas. Alongside the College’s strong academic focus, life at St. Columba’s extends far beyond the classroom. The college has a rich offering of sports that take place year-round, from rugby and hockey in the winter, to cricket and athletics in the summer. Additionally, the college has a range of amazing sports facilities, including a golf course and golf training centre, a large gym, cricket pitches, an outdoor swimming pool, and much more.
At St Columba’s, there is a place for everyone to thrive and all to be welcomed. The College has a thriving arts and music scene, with student-led choirs, musicals, plays, art showings, debates and concerts that take place regularly throughout the year. I encourage you to try new things, especially transition year students, in this safe and supported environment. Alongside excelling in your talents, it is what makes Columba’s so special.
To those who are new, allow yourself time to settle in. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. To returning pupils, I encourage you to lead with kindness and compassion, be there for each other and to help set the tone for another incredible year at the college.
