Girls' hockey:

As we draw near to the end of the hockey season, many of the recent matches have been to qualify for the final stages of the league and the plate. The 1st XI are doing extremely well; they take on Santa Sabina in the semi final of the league. All of the girls teams will be out in force to show their support!

This week the minor As will be competing for a place in the quarter final of the plate, along with another match against Mount Sackville in the quarter final of the League. The Juniors are also competing in the plate against Muckross this week in the quarter final.

The seniors finished joint second in their pool below Wesley. We had a play-off with Newpark on Tuesday 21Feb to see who will play in the A League semi-final vs St Andrews and won 4-1. They played in the Trophy semi-final against Sutton and won 2-1. We are due to play the winners of the other semi, Kilkenny or KH. By making the trophy final we have now also qualified for the semi-final of the cup against St Andrews.

The juniors have done superbly well by topping their pool above Wesley. They play in an A League semi-final against Sutton or High School. They are also through to the final of their cup with an excellent beating St.Kilian's 4-0.

The minors finished joint second in their pool again below Wesley. They will play in the A League semi-final against St Andrews tomorrow. Wesley knocked them out of their cup at the quarterfinal stage.

The u13s have had a difficult season with little previous hockey experience.  They finished second from bottom in the league and were knocked out in the first round of their cup. They do show a lot of promise and remain enthusiastic despite their lack of success.
