Gala Concert 2016

Soprano Anna Brady was the guest star at the Gala concert which took place in a full BSR last night. Anna, who has a longtime association with the College as a performer and teacher, delighted the audience with her expressive and vibrant singing. Pupils Tania Stokes and Ciara Gumsheimer (piano), Andre Stokes (violin) and vocalists Max Hillary, Robyn Brady, Alexandra Malone all performed with great confidence and panache while the College choirs contributed to a varied programme that finished off with the rousing Chorus of Wedding Guests by Donizetti. There was a raffle during the interval for the St Vincent de Paul. Thanks must go to Mairead Hurley who accompanied on piano and to Tristan Clarke who is director of the Sine Nomine choir. Thanks also to Sodexo for providing the food and the Parents' Association for providing the drinks at the receptions before and after the concert. We are very grateful to the following for kindly sponsoring the evening: Hubert Beaumont, Jackie and Dermot Brady, Adrian and Deborah Fitzgibbon, Caroline Kennedy, Gwen Malone, Alison McCone and Alexander and Claudia Pirlet. Congratulations once again to the organising committee of Julian Girdham, Marie Haslett and Amanda Morris and especially to Geraldine Malone Brady, director of music in the College, for the splendid evening of entertainment.
